课程介绍：
A Ph.D. student must complete 12 hours of dissertation credit leading to a dissertation. A student with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field must take at least 18 hours of graded graduate courses. A student without a master’s degree must take at least 48 hours of graduate courses, of which 42 or more hours must be graded graduate courses. The remaining hours can be in research (EMCH 797), and the graded graduate courses must include the core courses required of all master’s degree students.

Applicants must have earned a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university. International students whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency by obtaining minimum TOEFL score of 570 (paper-based) or 80 (internet-based). Applicants may also take the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) in lieu of the TOEFL. A minimum score of 6.5 is required for the IELTS. Admission also requires submission of scores on either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT).
