Welcome to the Graduate School of Education (GSE) at the University at Buffalo (UB), State University of New York.
Since 1931 when GSE was established, over 17,000 students have graduated and moved on to successful careers as university presidents and administrators, principals, superintendents, psychologists, counselors, information specialists, librarians, teachers, faculty, and outstanding researchers. Our alumni are found in their professions literally all over the world.
In GSE our core purpose is to "...inform and prepare a profession to positively shape human development, education, and the information environment in local, national, and global contexts." ( Future Directions—GSE, May 2007) Knowledge is increasing today at a rate never seen before in our history. Because of our research, GSE’s curriculum and programs stay ahead of the curve, making our graduates well prepared to meet 21st century challenges.
Our award-winning faculty are engaged in groundbreaking research in a wide range of educational issues. As a student you will be part of an intellectual community that is vibrant and challenging, a place where research and practice come together to meet the highest standards.
