Eugene T. Moore School of Education
Centered in Clemson’s historic Tillman Hall, the Eugene T. Moore School of Education is named for the late Eugene T. Moore. In 2003, Darla Moore, daughter of Eugene T. Moore, and Richard Rainwater gave a $10 million gift to Clemson to name the school. Eugene T. Moore was a 1949 graduate of Clemson University and committed his adult life to education as a teacher, coach and principal in Florence County, S.C. Read a Welcome from Darla Moore and Richard Rainwater.

Our programs enroll some 1,000 undergraduate and 500 graduate students. The mission of the Eugene T. Moore School of Education is to prepare caring and capable professionals through intellectually engaging experiences in theory, method, and research that connect them to the communities in which they live and serve. The School of Education trains teachers, counselors, and leaders for P–12 schools, prepares counselors for community practice and higher education institutions, and prepares training and development specialists for business and industry. We are nationally accredited by NCATE and CACREP.

Housed in the School of Education is the nationally acclaimed Call Me MISTER® program. Also located here are the Charles H. Houston Center for the Study of Black Experience in Education, three S.C. Centers of Excellence — Instructional Technology Training, Adult Literacy and Learning, and Inquiry in Mathematics and Science.
