The mission of the College of Education and Human Development is to promote scholarly activity and research that informs and supports instruction and fieldwork; to provide the necessary resources; and to facilitate a supportive environment wherein students become effective learners, educators, practitioners, scholars, researchers and related specialists. Our graduates are professionals who are sensitive to and experienced in working with people of all ages and with diverse backgrounds in schools, organizations, communities and families. Crucial to our mission is the conducting of research and evaluation, which guides the development of effective instruction, provides service to communities and explores issues meaningful to the teaching and learning process.
The College of Education and Human Development is committed to engaging in outreach programs, field experiences and activities that foster professional partnerships to provide services that challenge and enrich the lives of individuals of all ages in a changing, diverse and complex global society.
