Master’s Admission Requirements
The HESA Master’s Program has a two-tiered admissions process. Conditional admittance is given to all applicants who meet the basic admissions criteria as set by the Office of Graduate Studies in the School of Education as well as the specific academic requirements set by the HESA program. Full admission will be given to students who successfully complete a faculty interview and secure a graduate assistantship after they have been given conditional admittance to the program.
The application deadline for all interested students (domestic and international) is December 1.
Requirements for Conditional Admission
- Meet the basic requirements for admission as set by the Office of Graduate Studies in the School of Education.
- Meet the following minimum academic requirements as set by the HESA program:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- 900 combined score on the GRE verbal and quantitative sections (1600 max.)
- Minimum score of 3.5 on the GRE analytical writing section (on a scale of 0-6)
Requirements for Full Admission
- Gain conditional admittance based on the criteria outlined above
- Successfully complete a faculty interview (conducted during HESA Outreach)
- Successfully secure a graduate assistantship (separate application process, interviews occur during Outreach)
Due to the structure of the master’s program curriculum, admission is restricted to the fall semester only. If an applicant is unable to begin the program during the fall semester, they will be required to reapply for the following academic year.
