Levin College of Urban Affairs
The Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University is one of the top 10 urban affairs schools in the nation. U.S. News & World Report’s listing of "America’s Best Graduate Schools 2008" ranked it number two in the nation for its “city management/urban policy” graduate specialty. The College offers 13 degree programs that equip students with the technical and management skills needed to launch careers in fields such as public management, planning, public safety, historic preservation, environmental studies, economic development, and housing. Degree completion programs are available for community college transfer students with A.A., A.A.S., or A.A.B. degrees in human services, health sciences, paralegal studies, police science, emergency management, or fire science.
Nonprofit Administration Major
The Nonprofit Administration Major is designed to:
Provide management and communications skills needed for leadership roles in complex organizations with a human services mission.
Allow for in-depth study of community needs and introduce analytical tools for addressing issues and problems.
Prepare students for future career challenges in nonprofit administration.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of the Nonprofit Administration program are employed in children and family services agencies, in nonprofit organizations, and in other agencies with a human services mission. A major in Nonprofit Administration is good preparation for law school or for graduate study in Public Administration, Social Work or Community Agency Counseling.
Career Services assistance is available at the college through job postings, government and post-graduate internship opportunities, and a mentoring program. The Cleveland State Career Services Office offers career counseling and resume review on site. The required nonprofit administration internship gives students practical experience in settings designed to complement their degree program.

The Bachelor of Arts in Nonprofit Administration curriculum takes full advantage of its location in a major urban setting in fulfilling its commitment to urban education, research, and community service.
The curriculum utilizes the resources of the Levin College and other related departments throughout the University for its interdisciplinary academic program. Students pursuing the Nonprofit Administration major take courses and seminars dealing directly with problems and issues in the field and their solutions. Web-based and interactive video courses are available.
In addition, the Nonprofit Administration major is designed to facilitate transfer for students with A.A.S. degrees in Human Services or Social Work. Here are just a few of the many special opportunities that Cleveland State University’s Levin College of Urban Affairs offers:
