Rutgers University at Newark Certificate of Nonprofit Management
http://summer.newark.rutgers.edu/crt_np.php
The School of Public Affairs & Administration's Summer Certificate Program of Nonprofit Management is designed for:

-nonprofit or private sector practitioners who want to take graduate courses in nonprofit  management without applying for the M.P.A. degree;
-graduate students who want to explore a career in nonprofit management;
-individuals who possess a graduate degree and need to develop managerial knowledge  and skills.

“The mission of nonprofit management education is two-fold:

1- to prepare those who currently are or intend to become leaders or managers of private,     not-for-profit organizations; and
2- to educate leaders and managers of public sector and business organizations to the     nuances of nonprofits so that they can interact more effectively with nonprofits. . .

nonprofits do not operate in isolation but are very much intertwined with, yet distinct from, business and government.”

-Dennis Young, Public Performance & Management Review.

Students seeking the Certificate of Nonprofit Management normally complete four core courses over two summers: Nonprofit Human Resources, 20:834:577; Resource Development for Nonprofit Organizations, 20:834:576; Theory and Practice of Nonprofit Management, 20:834:570; and Nonprofit Budgeting, 20:834:571.

Three of the courses (Nonprofit Human Resources, Resource Development for Nonprofit Organizations, and Nonprofit Budgeting) count toward the core requirements and Theory and Practice of Nonprofit Management counts as an elective for students who decide to matriculate into the M.P.A. program. Certificate students must receive a grade of B or better in each of the certificate courses, and all certificate courses must be taken at Rutgers-Newark.
