Overview
The public finance and financial management specialization provides students with the skills and concepts needed for careers that focus on public and nonprofit financial management, public finance, health care financial management, and health care public finance. Our approach to finance is unique; students study the field from both an internal financial management perspective and an external public finance policy approach, thereby preparing to move into many types of positions.
Public sector financial management and public finance positions are located in government, private, not-for-profit, and health care organizations. Graduates often move across sectors during their careers.
Faculty
The Specialization brings together 13 full-time faculty members and 12 adjunct faculty members who are expert researchers and practitioners in their fields, lending their experiences and expertise to students looking to become future leaders in the field of public service finance.

How can we make our schools more efficient?
How much should we invest in new infrastructure?
How can we maintain the excellent quality in health care services while reducing the resources needed to provide that care?
What is the relationship between the services people receive and the taxes they pay?
