- 课程介绍:
- This program's objectives are to prepare students for professional leadership positions in various international, national, and regional public and private arts organizations including museums and galleries, community nonprofit organizations, performance venues, and private settings such as arts foundations; provide professional experience in arts agencies by incorporating a field-based internship and practicum component that enhances students' ability to move into professional positions in arts organizations; facilitate the development of individual research projects that contribute to the body of knowledge on the theory and practice of arts policy, administration, and management in an era of dynamic sociocultural change; and to provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills or develop new careers in the arts. The design of this master's degree program in arts management is based on the underlying belief that professional arts managers must be familiar with the social, cultural, and ethical contexts of the arts in general. The performing arts management concentration of the arts and administration master's degree at the University of Oregon prepares individuals for leadership positions in nonprofit, public, and for-profit organizations involved with music, opera, dance, and theater; a specialization in media/film management may also be pursued within this concentration. This concentration focuses on the nonprofit professional performing arts and aims to develop interlinkages among cultural policy, organizational mission, and artistic vision in a broadly defined cultural sector. Required and elective courses develop critical thinking and address theoretical, aesthetic, and practical issues in performing arts management.
