The MELAB Speaking Test is a one-on-one oral interaction between an oral examiner and an examinee. The best way to prepare for the Speaking Test is to speak English regularly with proficient users of English. The MELAB Speaking Test is conversational in nature so being an active participant in conversations will give you opportunities to improve your oral communication skills. Your oral communications may also be enhanced by other oral activities such as listening to the radio, watching television, and viewing films. You can also benefit from any speaking activities on which you get feedback on your spoken English. The MELAB oral examiner will be evaluating how well you speak English with regard to your speech (fluency and intelligibility), interactive skills (conversational development and comprehension), and language (vocabulary and grammar).
