课程名称:M.A in Physics
- 授予学位:硕士学位 (Masters)
- 授予机构:UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA BERKELEY
- 学院:College of Letters and Science, Department of Physics
课程介绍:
The Master's degree is administered according to the regulations given in the Graduate Division section of the General Catalog. The Physics Department requires a comprehensive examination rather than a thesis; passing the preliminary exams is considered the comprehensive exam (Note: If the student does not pass the prelim, passing a one-hour exam consisting of three faculty members shall be required in its place; the exam will cover only coursework taken by the student).
- 国际学生入学要求:
General GRE and the Physics Subject GRE exams is required for all the applicants. The minimum graduate admission requirements are: (1) a bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution; (2) enough undergraduate training to do graduate work in your chosen field; and (3) a satisfactory scholastic average, usually a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B). Satisfying minimal standards, however, does not guarantee your admission, since the number of qualified applicants far exceeds the number of places available. As a result, many well-qualified applicants cannot be accommodated.
The Physics M.A. candidate must complete: Physics 209, 211 (210A/B for graduate students who entered before Fall 2001) and 221A-221B or 19 replacement units of approved coursework, if subject waivers have been granted for prior coursework; 16 additional elective units of approved upper division and graduate courses; and pass a comprehensive examination (passing the preliminary exams constitutes passing the comprehensive exam).
