课程介绍:

The Field of Comparative Biomedical Sciences offers a rich environment for graduate study. The Field is made up of over 80 faculty members from the College of Veterinary Medicine and various colleges and departments on the Ithaca campus. Faculty research is broken into five areas of concentration (Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Developmental and Reproductive Biology, Infectious Diseases, Population Medicine and Epidemiology and Structural and Functional Biology). Modern, well-equipped laboratories are available to conduct research in all of the concentrations. Research interests of the faculty include studies of normal, healthy animals and animal diseases at the molecular, organismic, animal and herd levels. The goal of the Field is to prepare graduates for positions in research and teaching, primarily in the medical sciences. The conduct of independent research is an essential feature of training, and a commitment to the pursuit of research is expected. The Graduate Field of Comparative Biomedical Sciences is one of several graduate fields that make up the Graduate Program in Biological and Biomedical Sciences of Cornell University. Students admitted into the Program are guaranteed to receive funding (including tuition, student health insurance and a stipend) for the duration of their graduate program. Funding for the first year is provided by the Graduate Program; in subsequent years funding is provided by the thesis advisor.
