M.S. in Petroleum Engineering--University of Houston

课程名称:Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering (Courses Only)

授予学位:硕士学位 (Masters)

授予机构:University Of Houston

学院:Cullen College of Engineering, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Petroleum Engineering Program

课程介绍:

This program requires 36 credit hours of approved courses beyond the introductory level in petroleum engineering. Additional credit hours in prerequisite courses are required when the previous degree is not in petroleum engineering.

国际学生入学要求:

Students must have earned a BS in Petroleum Engineering from an accredited college or university. Students with BS degrees in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering will also be considered, with full admission possible with the completion of the four MPE prerequisites (with B or better in each course). Bachelor degree holders in other engineering disciplines (civil, electrical, industrial, etc.) or science disciplines (math, chemistry, physics, geosciences, etc.) will be considered only after completion of undergraduate course work covering deficiencies in basic sciences, math, engineering sciences, and engineering applications comparable to the requirements of accredited BS programs in petroleum, chemical, or mechanical engineering. Students not holding a petroleum engineering degree must complete the following prerequisite courses before enrolling for intermediate and advance level courses - prerequisite courses: PETR 5361 introduction to petroleum engineering, PETR 6328 petroleum fluid properties and phase equilibria, PETR 5362 reservoir engineering I, PETR 6364 origin and development of oil and gas reservoirs. Students should have secured a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 79 (internet-based) on the test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or overall band score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

 课程安排:

The modules are required courses: PETR 6304 Evaluation of Petroleum Bearing Formations I, PETR 6314 Pressure Transient Test, PETR 6330 Principles of Hydraulic Fracturing, PETR 6368 Well Drilling and Completions I, and PETR 6372 Petroleum Production Operations. Advanced Level Courses: PETR 6302 Reservoir Engineering II, PETR 6308 Advanced Petroleum Production Operations, PETR 6310 Petroleum Production Economics, PETR 6312 Evaluation of Petroleum Bearing Formations II, PETR 6316 Well Drilling and Completions II, PETR 6320 Enhanced Oil Recovery Processes, PETR 6324 Theory of Reservoir Modeling, PETR 6325 Integrated Reservoir Characterization, PETR 6326 Applied Reservoir Simulation, PETR 6350 Natural Gas Engineering, PETR 6380 Project Management, PETR 6387 Drilling and Completion of Complex Well Arch, PETR 6397 Business and Technical Communication.
