Introduction to the Program

The objective of the Program in Higher Education Administration is to prepare, train and educate students to become leaders in the administration of colleges and universities, scholars who can bring about greater understanding of higher education, and teachers who can pass on knowledge of the past and equip students with the ability to work with an ever-changing higher education environment in the future.

You must apply online with the Graduate and International Admissions Center(GIAC).

The following must be completed or submitted to GIAC:

  1. Complete official GIAC application via ApplyTexas application - This is the fastest, easiest way for you to submit your application and is GIAC's preferred method for receiving applications.
  2. Pay your non-refundable application fee of $65.00 US.
  3. Submit official transcripts to GIAC. Official transcripts of all attempted undergraduate work should be sent directly from the registrar of each college and university attended directly to GIAC. Photocopies or transcripts submitted directly by the applicant are not official and will not be accepted.
  4. Submit an official GRE test score to GIAC. These scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to GIAC. GRE scores older than 5 years are not valid. Photocopies are not official and will not be accepted. Please visit theEducational Testing Service (ETS) site for more information on taking the GRE.
  5. Current Resume. If you are a Principalship applicant, please the UTAPP Resume format.
  6. Provide the email for three (3) professional references to GIAC. GIAC will contact your references and will invite them to submit online each recommendation and accompanying reference form.

Departmental Requirements

The following must be completed or submitted to our Department:

  1. A minimum GPA of 3.00 for all upper-division and graduate coursework
  2. Applicant Information Sheet (Electronic Version)
