This program is designed to produce scholars who wish to conduct high-level theoretical and empirical research and teach at major research institutions. The program stresses close contact between a small group of doctoral students and a distinguished faculty. The program of study consists of small seminar classes, individual faculty attention, and research mentoring relationships wherein doctoral students work closely with faculty members engaged in leading-edge research.

Applicants must have earned a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university. International students whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency by obtaining minimum TOEFL score of 100 (internet-based). Applicants may also take the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) in lieu of the TOEFL. A minimum score of 7.0 is required for the IELTS. Applicants must also provide a valid (five years or less) GMAT score or Graduate Records Examination (GRE) to be considered for admission.
