美国工业工程年会杂记--(1)

美国工业工程年会是工业工程界每年非常重要的几次会议之一(其他重要的会议还有INFORMS年会,Winter Simulation Conference等),所以有非常多的学者和公司参加。会议一般分为两个部分,一个部分是IE Research conference(IERC),也就是学术上的交流,第二个部分是公司的演示和新技术新产品的介绍。会议从五月十七日至二十一日,历时五天。

到达波特兰的时候,已经是17日晚上。因为同行的人第二天早上有presentation,所以后一段路开的很急。到宾馆后已是疲惫不堪,登记后就休息了,所以没有参加欢迎宴会。因为有两个小时的时差,第二天起得很早,来到宾馆的大厅,已经是人满为患。不过,似乎参加的人数不及去年在奥兰多的会议(因为迪斯尼乐园?)。

拿到会议的日程,翻看了一下,和以往的改动不大。只不过,今年年会中,logistics & scheduling的比重又较去年有所提高,这也很明显的代表着目前工业工程技术的侧重点。IERC共有116个session,具体的分类如下,希望大家可以通过每个分支所占session的比重,看出工业工程的发展方向。
