The program in Aging, the Life Course, and Health provides a multifaceted, research-based perspective on the sociological study of aging. Courses cover a broad range of topics, including the role of inequality in aging processes and the social context of aging. Students have the opportunity to organize and conduct research projects in related areas, drawing on the expertise of faculty who specialize in retirement, demography, health and disability, aging and dying well, and the family in late-life. The courses are: Aging and End of Life Issues; Demography of Aging; Gender and Aging; Health and Aging; Health Disparities and the Life Course; Mental Health and Aging; Sociology of Aging and the Life Course.

国际学生入学要求:

Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree or Master's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a comparable degree from an international institution, a minimum grade average of B for all upper-division undergraduate work and scores that are acceptable for the program to which students are applying. They must also have acceptable scores on the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Students should contact the academic unit for specific program criteria, which will require them to submit such items as transcripts, recommendation letters, and more. International applicants should submit the English proficiency test scores (i.e.) TOEFL or IELTS.
