Applying to Master's Programs
Printed below is a summary of each program's admission requirements and the deadlines for applying. Although the deadlines vary somewhat depending on the specific program to which you want to apply, each one of these programs uses the same online application process. To apply to any one of the programs listed below, follow this link to submit your application online:

All School of Education graduate programs have the following minimum application requirements:

1.A completed on-line Application Form.


2.A Personal Statement.


3.Three (3) letters of recommendation. Recommendations must be submitted electronically. You may  find more information about submitting recommendations by following this link to www.udel.edu/gradoffice/applicants/.


4.Transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) studies should be uploaded as part of your application. Applicants who previously attended the University of Delaware should list our institution on their application, but need not provide a transcript.


5.All students whose native language is not English must submit official copies of the TOEFL or IELTS test. The minimum acceptable score for the paper-based TOEFL test is 600; the minimum acceptable score for the Internet-based TOEFL test is 100. The minimum acceptable score for the IELTS is 7.0.
In addition to these general admission requirements, some programs have additional admissions requirements.

The following programs require applicants to submit official GRE scores:

■M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language
■M.A. in School Psychology


The following programs do not require GRE scores:

■M.Ed. in Exceptional Youth and Children
■M.Ed. in Educational Leadership
■M.Ed. in Reading
■M.I. in Instruction


The following programs require an additional writing assignment as part of either the application or selection process:

■M.Ed. in Exceptional Youth and Children
■M.Ed. in Reading
Application Deadlines
Application deadlines vary somewhat, depending on the program to which you apply. The deadlines are as follows:

■Master of Instruction (M.I.): April 1 (Fall entry), February 1 (Summer entry), November 1 (Spring entry)


■M.Ed. in Educational Technology: November 1 (Spring entry) and April 1 (Fall entry)


■M.Ed. in Exceptional Youth and Children: November 1 (Spring entry), February 15 (Summer entry for MPCP) and April 1 (Fall entry)


■M.Ed. in Reading: March 1 (Fall entry)


■M.Ed. in School Leadership: February 28 (Summer entry)


■M.A. in School Psychology: January 15 (Fall entry). Applications for Fall 2011 admission will be accepted until February 1, 2011.


■M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language: April 1 (Fall entry)
