The Department of Operations and Decision Technologies offers integrated programs in the broad areas of supply chain and operations, business analytics, and information systems, all within an atmosphere that blends academic rigor with camaraderie and support.
While our faculty members are well known in the field for their widely used textbooks and leading-edge research, they’re also known for being responsive to student needs, mentoring and empowering our students to master the real-world skills they need to succeed in the business world.
Driving Business Performance
Together, the three areas of study in Operations and Decision Technologies—supply chain and operations, business analytics, and information systems—combine and complement one another to increase efficiencies, improve processes, and deliver goods and services that affect everyone’s daily lives.
Operations management covers the “value added” activities that manage resources and the distribution of goods and services, while decision sciences provides the analytical tools and models used to solve business problems. Information systems provides the technical knowledge which business enterprises need to solve business problems.
The background you’ll receive in areas such as supply chain management, information systems, and business analytics—something you will likely use every day in your career—will enable you to be a valuable and contributing member of your company from your first day on the job. Our curriculum will enhance your decision-making skills as well as teach you how to work in the global business environment.
