The program curriculum is designed to provide students with breadth in the fundamentals of materials science and engineering as well depth in their chosen areas of study.

Applicants should have a minimum TOEFL score of 600 (paper test), 250 (computer test), or 100 (Internet-based test). Applicants taking the internet-based TOEFL (IBT) should have minimum sub-scores of 26 (reading), 26 (listening), 22 (writing) and 25 (speaking). International students with SAT critical reading scores of 670 or higher are exempt from the TOEFL requirement. For the IELTS, applicants seeking admission will preferably have an academic band score equal to 7.
