In this program, students will have opportunities for research and education in a wide range of issues, including remediation of contaminated soils and sediments, industrial and solid waste treatment, water and wastewater treatment, air pollution measurement and control, urban and agricultural air and water quality management, understanding the environmental fate of pollutants, and sustainable engineering.

Students must have completed eight semesters of English, six semesters of academic math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, etc), laboratory science (biology, chemistry, physics, earth/space sciences, physiology/anatomy) and four semesters of a foreign language. They should possess a SAT score of 480 or higher on the Critical Reading section and ACT score of 20 or higher on the English section. They must have a Engineering Admissions Index (EAI) of 2.0. International students whose native language is not English should fulfill the English language requirements with an IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL scores of 550 (paper-based test), 213 (computer-based test) or 79 (internet-based test).
