Who are we?
Welcome to the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University.

We solve pressing problems for consumers, families, schools and communities. And as a student you benefit from the enormous range of our expertise. When you graduate, you will be prepared to tackle day-to-day issues, complex statewide problems, and national policies.

We are proud of our 91,000 alumni, who are the bedrock of America and countries worldwide. They take action, whether to ensure one child in their neighborhood gets an equal education or to discover how an entire continent would no longer be threatened by blindness.

Top-tier programs
Our efforts are highly regarded, and competition to join our programs can be fierce. U.S. News and World Report has long ranked our graduate education program in the top tier, most recently as seventh among public universities and 14th among both public and private institutions. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has recognized our community outreach efforts and community-engaged curriculum.

Numerous faculty members and staff researchers are elected officers of their professional organizations, and we house several academic journals. In addition, our experts serve on state and federal government commissions and agencies.

We enroll approximately 3,700 undergraduate students and 1,500 graduate students. We embrace diversity. Individuals of color comprise 5 percent of the undergraduate enrollment and 15 percent of the master's and Ph.D. enrollment. A total of 1.4 percent of undergraduates and 12.1 percent of graduate students are from countries around the world. And faculty and staff also have a rich depth of identity. Approximately 15 percent of faculty and 14 percent of staff are members of minorities.
