Dean Levin’s Message

The Graduate School of Education is a unit within a major research university, and part of the University of California. Our emphasis is upon the generation of knowledge through research, scholarship, and dissemination of knowledge through teaching, public presentations, consulting, and publication.

Together, University of California, Riverside Graduate School of Education’s students, faculty, staff, and administrators constitute an educational community that shares a commitment to serve our region, our state, and our nation. The Graduate School of Education practices its motto—“Shaping Minds, Ideas, The Future.” Faculty demonstrate a passion for research and student learning and push students to their potential. Our faculty advance knowledge, both nationally and internationally. Our students excel not just in their graduate program but in their future endeavors, whether as teachers, researchers, administrators, or civic leaders. We want our students to grow intellectually and cognitively through their program work in our school. We want our current and former students to perform well in their professional lives. We want to ensure that students and former students are ambassadors for the school and encourage others to join our educational community.

GSOE is an educational environment that is dynamic, diverse, and developing: a place that educates you and your communities. We value you, our students, and welcome you to our community.

Tu eres valioso para nosotros, cada uno de nuestros estudiantes lo es, por ello te damos la bienvenida a nuestra comunidad educative.

我們重視你, 歡迎你成為我們大家庭中的一份子.

Ikasleok, preziatzen zaituztegu. Ongi etorri gurera.

Nous apprécions votre présence, et nous vous souhaitons la bienvenue dans notre groupe.

ようこそカリフォルニアへ。君たちの大いなる可能性と未来への挑戦のために、私たちは誇りと自信を持ってサポートする。

In order to sustain our school, we depend upon staff, supervisors, lecturers, tenure-track faculty, students, and administrators, as well as alumni, donors, advisory committee members, friends of GSOE, and a host of university personnel outside of the GSOE. As dean, I am grateful to all of these contributors. Thank-you to those who comprise the educational community of UCR’s Graduate School of Education.
