PROGRAM FEATURES
The Educational Technology program, ranked nationally in the top five, has a strong focus on instructional design, development, and evaluation, as well as current and emerging trends and technologies. These include human performance technology, training, web-based learning, distance learning, distance education, technology integration, multimedia learning, animated pedagogical agents, and interactive learning environments.
The program's reputation is based on the accomplishments of its faculty, the placement and success of its graduates, and the productivity of its students. Ranked among the most productive in the field, since 1999, ASU educational technology students have authored or co-authored more than 200 articles in refereed national journals and papers presented at refereed national or international conferences.
DEGREES AND CERTIFICATES
PhD
The doctoral program emphasizes research using technology in applied settings. The program has a strong research focus, with significant practical experience conducting research and publishing works. PhD graduates usually work as university faculty and educational technologists.
MEd
The MEd program focuses on the design, development and evaluation of instructional systems and educational technology applications to support learning. MEd graduates are typically employed as training specialists in corporate settings or as educational technologists in schools, community colleges, and universities.
Certificates
The graduate certificate in Instructional Design and Performance Improvement focuses on how to facilitate learning and improve performance in a variety of settings.
The K-12 Online Teaching certificate prepares current K-12 teachers to teach in an online environment and become leaders in the development, implementation and evaluation of online programs.
The graduate certificate in Technology for Teaching and Learning is designed for classroom teachers who want to become highly skilled at successfully integrating technology into the curriculum.
