This program offers four areas of concentration are the same as the four fields of political science: American government and politics (A), comparative government and politics, political theory: normative and empirical and methodology, international relations, law, and politics.
国际学生入学要求：
Students should have complete either the College Board Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or the test of the American College Program (ACT). They taking the SAT should take the three-part SAT Reasoning Test plus two SAT Subject Tests. This school code for the SAT is 5156. This ACT school code is 3088. Students whose native language is not English are encouraged to sit for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). A minimum score of 250 (600 on paper-based test) on the TOEFL or an overall band score of 7 on the IELTS is expected for all applicants to Duke.
课程安排：
The American politics area includes all facets of the American political system: elections, parties, the presidency, the legislatures, the courts, the media, the bureaucracy, state and local government, public administration, and interest groups. American politics courses also consider the effects of different institutional arrangements and decision rules. The comparative politics area includes general comparative analysis of political systems, comparative topics such as women in politics, revolution, militarism, and political development, and the study of politics in specific areas: Western Europe, the former Soviet Union, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, South Asia, Japan, China, and Canada.
